When can I cancel my basic insurance?

Basic insurance (KVG/LAMal) can be cancelled as of 31 December, provided your letter is received by the insurer by 30 November at the latest.

Is cancellation free?

Yes. Switching basic insurance is free and cover is guaranteed without interruption or a health questionnaire.

What happens after a premium increase?

A premium increase opens an extraordinary right of cancellation: you can cancel with one month's notice from the notification of the new premium.

Is my data safe?

Your data is stored in Switzerland, encrypted (TLS 1.3 + AES-256), and processed in compliance with the revised Swiss FADP. It is never resold to unauthorised third parties.

Who calls me back?

An independent Swiss partner broker authorised by FINMA (no. F01104644) calls you back to compare offers suited to your request.

Can I cancel my basic insurance online?

You can prepare the letter online, but the dispatch must allow you to prove receipt: registered mail or registered electronic submission from your client portal.

What is the deductible range?

For an adult, the basic-insurance deductible ranges from CHF 300 to CHF 2,500 per year. The co-payment is 10% above that, capped at CHF 700.

Can a cross-border worker leave Swiss insurance?

Under certain conditions, via the right of option: choose your country of residence's system and request an exemption, with supporting documents.

Does moving change my premium?

Possibly: the basic premium depends on the canton and the premium region. Notify your insurer of your new address.
